campania_10_2012_538Sofie is a freelance commercial photographer specializing in food and lifestyle subjects. She is currently based in Florence, Italy, and works in her studio, on location or in her native Belgium.

In the recent past, Sofie has collected an extensive editorial and advertising client list including: Architectural Digest US, La Cucina Italiana, Travel & Leisure UK, San Pellegrino, Frescobaldi Winery, Jolly Caffe, Cook_inc Magazine, Bargiornale Magazine, Het Nieuwsblad, Grande Magazine, Nest Magazine, Gastronomia Toscana, Borgo del Balsamico and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium.

Sofie’s images capture the delicate and natural beauty of a subject. She has an innate ability to find the light, and can guide her subjects to deliver the photograph as she imagined.

As a sideline to her commercial work, Sofie shoots and writes for her blog ‘The Curious Eater.’  She travels around Italy looking for exceptional food and the stories behind it. Sofie and her blog have been featured in in Elle Italy, Il Corriere A Casa and DeMorgen Magazine. She has collaborated with Michelin- starred chefs, the Pitti Group (Taste Florence), the Italian Consortium of Mozzarella, and dozens of restaurants and food producers.

Sofie is currently working on a book project that will be released early next year.

Curiosity and creativity drive her. Happiness is what she wants to communicate.

In Action

One of the best parts of being a photographer, is the people I get to work with. Every shoot has a different approach and team. It is not only about the final picture, but also about the proces and how we get to ‘the shot’. I like the customer to feel at ease and involved in the creative process.
